Water utilities are required by the Federal Trade Commission to verify the identity of their customers prior to speaking about their accounts. Unless the account holder grants permission, information about another account cannot be disclosed.
Application for new service requires the following documents, along with the appropriate deposit:
- Picture Identification (Driver’s License or Passport).
- For Property Owners, proof of ownership (Closing Disclosure).
- If you are a renter/lessee, you must provide proof of your rental/lease agreement together with the details of your landlord's contract.
- A Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number is required for anyone whose name appears on proof of ownership or rental/lease agreements.
If an application is received after 4:00 p.m., it will be processed the following business day. There is a deadline of 4:00 p.m. for a new service cut-on Monday through Friday.
WATER ACCESS REQUEST INFORMATION:
This applies to properties that have nave had public water service.
Tap Installation Requirements
To establish new water access, the property must meet all standard requirements, including:
Physical Address Verification from 911 Communications
Approval Form from the Health Department
These documents are required before tap application can proceed.
Georgia State Law requires: "On-Site Sewage managerment system Contrucation Permit Required"
No person may begin the physical development of a lot or structure thereon, where an on-site sewage management system will be utilized, nor install a new on-site sewage management system without having first applied for and obtained from the Dade County Health Department or Walker County Health Department, a construction permit for the installation.
